Single Dimension Arrays

An array is a sequence of data items of homogeneous value (same type). Any programming language like C/C++/Java provide a adata structure called the array.
Which can store a fixed size sequenctial collectionof elements of the same type.
The array followed by the square brackets is called the subscript operator [ notation ] which includes the index that has to be accessed

General Operations

  1. Traversal
  2. Search
  3. Insertion
  4. Deletion
  5. Sorting
  6. Merging
Each index of array uses 4 bytes of size in memory
Array elements are stored contiguously in memory
